Bellabox October 2012

 Another disappointing box from Bellabox.... 

When I received it yesterday, my first thought was "I am definitely going to unsubscribe this time!" 

I was really hoping for a better box this month, since it's Bellabox 1st Birthday...

Anyway, I will show you what I got.....

How to use :

1.Pour H20 onto cotton pad

2.Sweep across face, hold a few seconds to remove eye makeup

3.Micelles pick up dirt and makeup

4. Face feels clean and refreshed

My Verdict:

Disappointing yet again. I mean 3 out of 5 products are from Nuxe??? WHY?? I want to try other products from other brands. Why 3 from the same brand?? On top of that, one of it is a moisturiser,I have so many tubes and bottles of moisturisers that it's all waiting to be used. Bellabox, ,more make up please!!!

The only single thing that is worth mentioning in the box is probably Laura Mercier tinted moisturiser.

It's the only useful item, the rest will go into my useless box again. :-(((

Seriously, this is the last straw, I want to unsubscribe...the only thing is I can't because I have paid for a year subscription and that really sucks!

Vanity Trove October

Big & Beautiful!!

October VT is awesome!.....I received not 1 trove but 2!! Somewhere along the line, some miscommunication I was rushing to subscribe VT under Watsons 6 plus 1 deal. Not realising that I still have existing 1 more month of VT subscription.. So for Oct month, I have 2 troves. My mistake ;-) Will just pass it to my sis.

Full Size Pupa Triple purpose eye pencil. Made in Germany.

#updated: Just used this pencil. It is awesome! Easily applied and doesn't smudge after it's dried. After 4 hours, the lines are still very defined, with little smudge at bottom of lash. I love it! The colour is super dark. I will definitely buy this. I hope you get this in your trove this month.

My Verdict:

I love it! 

After a disappointing Bellabox Sept. This months VT is a refreshing change. Now we know why the price difference in both subscription boxes. In VT, you get more full sized products and interesting mix of products but in Bellabox, probably out of 5 boxes, you will get 1 good box. The price difference between the two boxes is $5. Used to be $10 until the price hike in Bellabox. If you have to decide on 1 subscription , go for VT.

This months VT has a good mix of make-up and skin care, which I like very much. The eye-pencil lines easily like a crayon, I can't wait to try that. The other product worth mentioning is the 3 tubes of Methode Swiss. I was reading the pamphlet , the overnight eye mask retails at $69.90 for 15ml. Which means for the small sample that I got , it's $23 each. If it's true that's the retail price, then this trove is quite a value. 

Another item in the box that stood out, was the Violent Lips. I have seen in Watsons and on Youtube, it's quite scary. I would never have the guts to use that! Probably useful for Halloween ;-)

Was looking through the card, thought they sent me wrong stuffs. Saw the mascara and DKNY perfume in the card but couldn't find the them in the trove. Had to read carefully, the stuffs in the trove are actually written in the card. Small prints.

Got this info from google. Formulated with natural plant extracts to remove dark pigment of lips, skin, nipple (??) and pubic area (??????) and treats skin discoloration due to smoking, breastfeeding, ageing etc. Pinkness last for 1 to 3 days and is waterproof. Made in Korea. 

Lastly, Shu uemura skin purifier.

My Verdict :

I love that there are 2 make-up items in this months trove. The colors for the Rimmel eyeshadow is something that I would use and the Essie nail polish colour is really nice. Other than that, the rest I would probably give it away. Firstly, the Oilum products, I have tons of these stuff.. the packaging looks a bit old, when it came, some lotion leaked out so the trove was a bit oily.

The 2 workshops sounds interesting especially La Mer, but then again I am away for holiday on both workshops , so this is useless to me.

This month is my last subscription to VT. Not sure whether to continue , will decide later. 

Am comparing Bellabox which is $15 (new subscription $19, I think) with VT at $25 , both subscriptions have almost similar products but VT cost more. What do you think?

Bellabox August

I Love Singapore theme. Bellabox August feels a bit light when I first got it, It doesn't come in the usual box this time, instead it's came in a I Love Singapore beach bag. Let's see what I got........

First thing I did was look in the list....got super excited when I saw a China glaze nail polish...yeah! Finally a nail polish lol......was getting tired of skin care and shampoos month after month.....

A lot of nice brands like Aveda, Dermalogica, China Glaze

How pretty is this color... I love it !!

Enavose Probiotics Exfoliance Gommage. It's an exfoliator formulated with Bacilus Ferment to remove dead skin. 

Dermalogica Skin Resurfacing Cleanser. A good size at 30ml. I have always like Dermalogica products, this will come in useful for traveling.

Aveda Invati Hair Care Program.(Shampoo and Conditional) 10 ml each. It's good for thinning hair. This is probably the only thing I don't have much use for. Perhaps Bellabox can look at my profile, I don't have thinning hair lol..... 

 Loreal Youth Code Boosting Essence. I have the same thing from Vanity Trove August. Seems like same supplier is supplying to both Bellabox and Vanity Trove. This is the 2nd or 3rd time I have similar items in the same month from both subscriptions.

Elizabeth Arden Visible difference skincare sachets.

My Verdict:

Mixed reaction to this months Bellabox. I love the China Glaze nail polish. I have always been getting skincare and more skin care from Bellabox, this is a nice change. Make up items are even better. The other products in the box are ok. Good size for Dermalogica cleanser. Probably the only thing that I won't use are the Aveda Shampoo and Conditioner. When I saw the label that it's meant for thinning hair, I almost fell off my chair. I have too much hair!! lol 

Anyway, the thing about these subscription boxes is ....I may not necessary use the products given but the thrill of not knowing what to expect and the excitement of waiting for the box to arrive every month is priceless :-)

My Verdict:

The trove contains products that are sold in Watsons . It's not the usual brands that Vanity Trove carries. So don't be mistaken. Regular Vanity trove has bigger and nicer brands, I got this for free, it's really a wonderful collaboration between Watsons and Vanity Trove! Watsons carries so many brands, this is a good way to try some products to see if it's suitable.Thumbs up! Hope there will be more of these in future.
